This is a custom piece I created for a client, this is the first absolutely beautiful garnet I have gotten to wrap, I have some garnet beads I’ve worked with but this piece just blows my mind. I was totally psyched when she wanted it to be wrapped in Gold Filled, I know red stones can be beautiful in silver but they almost always scream gold to me, so yey!!!

I took a lot of pictures of this baby before I got any satisfying ones, Garnet is a lot like Amethyst, tricky because the stone needs backlit and the wire work needs front lighting, anyway, I think it all worked out okay Here is another view of the same stone/wrap and the customer review.

Garnets are a very widely known gemstone. Most often a reddish brown color garnets are able to span almost any color when they absorb different materials. These stones are a very hard stone, meaning that it’s a great stone for jewelry as it can encounter and withstand a certain amount abuse. Garnets have been around and known to man-kind so long that they are even mentioned in the Bible when Noah uses a Garnet lantern to guide the arch. Garnets are generally hard to tell if they are authentic or not, but there are two ways you can check on your own. The first is to look at the garnet in natural and artificial light, the garnet should change color, either slightly or drastically. The other is not fool proof, but most garnets are somewhat magnetic, not all but most. So you can check if the garnet is magnetic.

Gold Filled Wire is not the same as Gold Plated. Gold Filled is an actual layer of gold pressure bonded to a base metal. Gold Filled Wire has over 100% more gold than Gold Platting does. Gold Filled is much more valuable, won't chip away and is more tarnish resistant than plated. Anyone who can wear Gold can wear Gold Filled without worries of allergic reactions to the jewelry.

In the notation 14/20 the 14 refers to the gold being 14k and the 20 refers to the law that to be labeled "Gold Filled" the weight of the wire has to be 1/20th gold. All Zoria's products that have Gold Filled wire is at least 14/20 quality or better.
