Description
This is my first sculpture I've done for my Art 100 class, it's supposed to be the fist breath you take when you come out of the water. It's done with just plain air dry clay and I'm debating weather or not to paint it. What does everyone think? Gentle critiques are welcome

This is really nice - good job!
And since "real" critiques are reserved for paying members - I'll do it here.
Given the lighting I may be incorrect but it seems that next to the Left eye there's more "head" than next to the Right. (but that could just be an optical illusion). The only thing that really stands out as odd is the lips, seems like they could be softer.
But as a first sculpture (or at least for the current term) it is really nice work!! I love how you did the water ripples. And I think you should leave it as is (no paint) - but if you feel so inclined to add paint maybe blueish highlights is all I would suggest. Hope this helps with what you were looking for. xD
