Charmed Silence 167 by Zorias Charmed Silence 167 by Zorias
Piece # 167 "Charmed Silence"
A Zoria's Creation. Krista DeSelms ©2011

This is by far not the most unique design, I'm not even sure where I saw this kind of design first, but I thought I'd try it out and these circular designs are the only things I've ever been able to really create something nice with beads, I'm making these as a little less expensive design for those who'd like to have some of my work but can't afford some of my more complex pieces. :)

Amethyst bead wrapped in Argentium Sterling Silver.

Amethyst is the Birthstone for February and the accepted anniversary gemstone for the 6th year of marriage. Amethyst has been considered a semiprecious stone since an abundance of the crystal mineral was found in Brazil in the 19th century. Before that is was considered a precious stone. Amethyst is a quartz mineral and comes in various shades of purple. The natural occurrence of manganese in quartz gives Amethyst its purple hue.

ARGENTIUM® Sterling Silver is the highest quality of Sterling Silver available today and is highly tarnish resistant. Sterling Silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Argentium is actually 93.5% silver with the remaining 6.5% a mixture of Copper and the element Germanium which gives it a higher tarnish resistance and less people are allergic to it than normal Sterling Silver.

Zoria's is proudly registered as an Aregentium user.

ARGENTIUM® is a registered trademark of Argentium International Limited.

Yes, I do custom work.

The move has gone really well, we had lots of help from family and friends, but now it's just John and I and it'll take a couple more weeks to get settled in completely. We think we'll have internet next week, right now I just have my phone's internet :p

I HAVE INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!! :icongrin--plz:

Whew, anyways, we're still settling, I'm beginning to think it'll take more than a few weeks. My art room is a disaster zone, like ground zero type thing going on.

I just got a commission for a pair of earrings I'm excited to make, a bit before we moved I'd purchased all the things to start soldering, but haven't even tried one piece yet. But the customer asked if I could do it, I told her I'd try lol. I'm glad she wants them in silver, supposedly the Argentium I use is one of the easiest metals to solder because it just anneals together, I don't need actual solder. Anyway, as soon as I have a single surface not covered in boxes I'll be starting on that.

How are your paintings going? I hope all is well :)

Yippy for you!!! That is terrific!!
The settling in and getting organized again so you can find everything ~ I remember those days!!
That is so awesome about the earrings! I'd love to see them when they are done. It never hurts to try something ~ it's the not trying that is the worse!! I am so happy to hear you are going to try soldering. I've actually laid a bead in welding ~ I would think soldering is a bit easier ~ or in your case, on a much smaller scale, making it more convenient to try. I am sure you will do wonderful at it.
Unfortunately, the painting was put on hold. My lower back blew out again and I have been having problems with my breathing. Starting to feel better, so hopefully, I will get to paint some today.
So good to hear from you!! You sound very happy! :)
